Al Yamamah Steel Secures 336 Million Contract for Yanbu Wind Tower Supply

Saudi Arabia’s Al Yamamah Steel Industries has secured a significant contract worth SAR 126 million (336 million USD) to supply steel wind towers for the Yanbu Wind Farm project. The agreement was signed with SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction Co. on April 15 2026 marking another milestone in the Kingdom’s renewable energy expansion.

The nine-month contract involves the supply of wind towers for the 700MW Yanbu Wind Energy Project located in Madinah Province. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in April 2026 with the financial impact expected to start appearing in Al Yamamah’s second quarter results.

The Yanbu wind project forms a key component of Saudi Arabia’s National Renewable Energy Program (NREP) which aims to diversify the Kingdom’s energy mix and promote sustainable power generation. The project represents one of the largest renewable energy developments in the region as part of the government’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2060.

Al Yamamah Steel Industries operates its own wind tower manufacturing facility in Yanbu Industrial City which was inaugurated under the patronage of Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman. The facility boasts an annual production capacity of 50000 tonnes and produces steel towers measuring up to 130 meters in height and six meters in diameter.

This latest contract follows previous awards to Al Yamamah including supply agreements for other major wind projects across Saudi Arabia. The company has positioned itself as a key supplier in the Kingdom’s growing renewable energy sector as the nation transitions from its traditional oil-dependent economy.

The SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction Co. was awarded the main Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for the Yanbu Wind Energy Project in July 2025. The partnership between these companies underscores the Kingdom’s strategy to leverage local manufacturing capabilities for its renewable energy infrastructure development.

The contract signing represents Al Yamamah Steel Industries’ continued commitment to supporting large-scale renewable energy projects throughout Saudi Arabia as the Kingdom works toward its ambitious sustainability targets and economic diversification goals under Vision 2030.
